We’re proud to have been part of the innovative REMIS project, where cutting-edge technology meets impactful collaboration. Alongside VAKE, EmLogic was invited by S[&]T Norway to contribute to this ambitious initiative, launched by the Norwegian Space Agency and supported by the European Space Agency (ESA).

REMIS changes how ships are detected from space. Instead of sending all satellite images to Earth for analysis, REMIS processes and selects relevant images directly onboard the satellite. This reduces detection time from days to just hours, making maritime monitoring faster and more efficient.

At EmLogic, we brought our expertise in programmable logic to ensure the system works within the constraints of small satellites, such as limited power and processing capacity. The result is smarter ship detection that could play a key role in tackling illegal fishing, smuggling, and other maritime challenges.
